Well all just head about a company down the road from me that make springs it's called euro springs
I have been told they heat your original springs compress them then freeze them to give u shorter springs this I just word of mouth from a friend I havent made any enquiares to find if this is true or not as it's £20 a spring it's not to bad
Was wondering if anyone has heard of this process I think if this is possible it would leave the spring very brittle and prone to snapping iv tried google but not showing anything on this, all worn of heating springs as a bad idea but does the freezing process strenghten the spring again
Would like to lower the car if this would be possible it would do me to I get the cash together for a coilover set up
Thanx for any in put

You can normally buy lowering spring for about £100 so that would be better.

I wouldn't advise chopping your springs, I haven't heard of the heat-freeze method, but it sounds well dodgy to me, and are likely to fail at some point :/

Spax i phoned them a few times about a set up for our cars as i was sure the did them. must have fobbed me off. Right, as they're only 7 miles from me i will go up there on friday with that part number and try and see if they'll do us some Rear Height adjustable springs with hats. As they have a base product to work from it cant be that hard

It'll come with a hefty price tag though I expect, somewhere around the $1300 mark for the full kit.

After VAT and Duty on them you will be needing an industrial sized tub of Anusol once you've Payed out for them. And, if i've seen the prototype like i think i have, you got a load of welding and strengthening to do to the rear turrets. And, tbh, unless your gunna change the rear subframe to a double wishbone set up, there's not a lot of point just to have the springs on the damper. If anything, it ruins the Nice complient ride as larger springs even out the bumps better and spread shock loads over a larger area of the body. My Ma61 is so much nicer to drive than the s13 ever was with exactly the same coilovers. Apart from the rear springs. Mine are just chopped 1.5 coils on the rear at the mo

I wanted to see what they came up with more than anything, I have no intention of spending that much on suspension, when your kit will work just as well, for less than half the money and effort.

I went into Spax today. They Only make the dampers in house, so they gave me a number of their special parts manufacturer. www.dfaulknersprings.com/specials.htmI've got a bit of measuring and design work to do first, then have the finished dimensions and desired rate worked out but i'm thinking of keeping it basic and going for a 335LB/ INCH Rate spring (6kgf/mm) Also will be designing some Height adjustment collars to sit above the spring. either be stainless steel with aluminum collars or All ali if it works out cheap enough to justify. ;D
