I went to my local Toyota dealer today to get a parts availability checked, and while i was there i asked a few questions regarding the GT86. plus, got a few brochures on the car. End of june is the U.K release date, with a on the road price of £25k I Personally wont be putting a deposit down as i'm not made of money, but I'm already down for a test drive! ;D Anyone else thinking of seeing how good it actually is?

Shifty, EVERYTHING you just said = the truth.
I'm not mad on the looks but its nice looking for a new car, pretty much only this and the monaro (and new gen yank revivals) I actually can happily stand to look at without wanting to attack them with a terex scrap grab.
Could never bring myself to have a car on finance though, or buy a new car in fact Why not wait 2 years, get it 'run in' (20k miles) at half the price?. Toyota website recons base spec manual (why have anything else?) is a hair under £25k. But IIRC you pay 450 extra for the paint, even basic colours like black, white and 650 for some others... WTF... can I just have it in primer then and I'll rattle can it satin or matt black myself? (I'm going to actually ask them that)
EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot a BIG point... its a subaru basically. With a boxer engine. Built by Fuji Heavy Industries alongside cargo ships and construction equipment. WTF was wrong with a beams 3S-GE, and the gearbox and diff from an IS200 or MKIV supra?
