i just looked up the diff in my gx81 on the chart and its a f series 7.5" ring gear diff. i was kinda under the impression mkIII supra internals would fit but it now looks like they wont as they are g series and 8" ring gear. according to the chart a ma61 diff seems to be the closest thing to mine, mine is a f292 and ma61 is f293. does this mean i can fit a ma61 diff or will i need to build it into the gx casing? also what bhp are the ma61 diffs good for? does anyone have a spare diff as i gave mine away... doh.

which chart were you going by mate? the kaaz one on DW, www.driftworks.com/shop/kaaz-lsd-toyota-lexus.htmlor the TRD one on here? www.trdparts.jp/english/parts_lsd_mechanical.html7.5" diff came in lots of things and are pretty strong, but do suffer from the crush sleeves failing, which usually kills them after 200,000 miles of whining! *" obviously can take more shit, but most of the big boost mk2 supra's run a standard f series 7.5" Part number for celica supra TRD diff is 41301-RA010 and same for like altezza's (is200's) If i look at the kaaz list on driftworks your car (GX81,1G-GZE?) is either part -"SAT-3035" or "DAT3035" which is the same as a 8" torsen diff for the supra. Hmmm Well, best thing to do would be to find out the original trim of the car on the vin plate and from there you can see what diff's fit. Bon bon would know i'd have thought.being he's a chaser man

neither, i was looking at the chart you linked up on this site and one i found on a google. im a bit pissed up now so cant get into it but i wanna look at throwing in a ma61 internals to at least have a slipper in there for the time being then maybe upgrade to a decent 2 way later (dont wanna go down the welder route with this one as its a ball ache in a road car) just need to find a ma61 diff to pillage and someone to set it up (messed around with diff internals once before and made a right mess of it, whined like a biatch...)

Haha, forgot about that one mate! well, from what i can gather the last 3 on the ma61diff code just denotes its an lsd instead of the 2 = open, Number of pinion gears inside are the same inside both of those diffs, and both a 4.10 ratio so cant see any problems. , Although, something doesnt stack up right against the kaaz chart still? Fuck having a welder on this either! It's not too late to jump on my weir performance buy, driftoy.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=tech&action=display&thread=67i got no interest when i had it up as a group buy, so took it down from announcements I'm ordering the kit for mine and a solid crush sleeve next week after new year, so if you wanna go "two's up" on the order? Have a "diff man" down the road from me if you get stuck too

the kits $190 shifty, with todays exchange rate that's £123.20p but include bloody shipping and vat no doubt, still, a LOT cheaper than what a kaaz would cost you, I 've read very good things about the weir kits, so have no doubt in my mind the. best option.
Can't help you with sourcing a diff sadly, although have you still got supraslides number? He has dropped off the face of the earth, so hope he's ok, but would expect he's prob got a spare or your old one!
And as for cases, i suppose you put the MA61 diff in the GX81 casing, being their the same size and ratio, but i've been wrong before.

Aha I am risen from the ashes. Yeah not had much to report on the supra as I haven't done much. I've had to sort out the bathroom in my house as very soon I will be a daddy. ( oh shit) I suspect this may have an adverse effect on the level of free time I have available. anyhow I've got a few diffs but will have to check the ratios as I wanna keep the auto one. As for rebuilding them I've not ever had the pinion gear out but I've took two lsd's apart and put all the fat clutch plates into the one diff. Just put everything back to gather FT and in the same place it came from. I think as long as your gonna put the same crown wheel back in then they're quite easy. As for setting the pinion gear I've been told it's a case of covering the crown gear in engineers blue and using that to check the mesh of the two gears. However I have no idea what to look for. Anyhow happy new year to all
