Even tho I have just put my supra up for sale I have been offerd a 7mgte that I guess will fit on my w58 gear box
What sort of power am I looking at with min mods ?

hey man, The w57 bell housing from the celica supra engine will swap over. Your gunna have to spend money on a good clutch though, as the R154 clutch is a high torque pull type, and handles the extra strain,. My mate tried it with his 7mgte celica supra, but said the clutch slipped on standard boost. Minimal mods, walbro, free flow exhaust, air filter, 10 -12psi of boost, probably looking at around 310- 320 bhp, and 300 lb/ft torque. that's about safe, any more and the injectors/ afm, and engine map run out of puff, not to mention the turbo, which just produces heat over 1 bar. Also, re torquing the headgasket is a must.  |

Is £200 a good price for a 7m ? If it's complete and runs ok, then, yeah well worth £200. Forgot to say, 7MGE's before 1989 are the same clutch as in 5mge's, 89-93 has different bearing and apparently thicker cover plate springs. As for 200sx, quite a pain in the arse for no real gain over a stage 2 ca18, simple answer, it's a big old engine which needs money spent on it to get any decent power figures over 350bhp, for that you might as well go down the 1jz route, but sr20 is about the best combo tbh. |

Thing is 1jz seems far to much money all in , when I got a gearbox and this is a compleat engine loom and ecu seems a easy way to get a inline 6 turbo ,
My ca is fully forged 2871R bout 330bhp but it's a bit lagy

It will have a good bit of mid range power, and there's a shit load of torque once you turn the boost up, It just depends really if you wanna do it properly and spend a bit of time making sure its all tight and together in there first, New oe head gasket torqued down to 72 LB/FT Cooling and fueling are the other things to keep in mind,
A nice big intercooler and lexus LS400 AFM, bigger, later supra injectors should be good fun, but the standard ecu needs either a chip or a piggyback ecu past a bar.

got the 7m on sat had a quick look at it , i have the engine wiring loom and ecu but no afm . what elce will i need ?
it has a clutch so thats good
will it fitt on my subframe?
im going to my unit today will prob take the 5m out have a look at what needs doing
