Before posting it would be cool if members can introduce themselves.
A brief description about you, location, your ride and other hobbies besides drifting.
(Although if you live, breathe and sweat drifting, thats fine. )
I'll start.
My names neil walker, Im 32 years young From oxford in England and i got into drifting around 2004 when i went to enstone airfield with my mate ernie
to one of the first organised drift practices in the u.k.
He had been given a mk2 supra for free from a local builder as it had a failed ecu. He then came across another free supra, this time a mk3 ma70 turbo manual, which he robbed it of its 7MGTE and R154 box.
I had a bmw e36 328 back then but due to the expense of aftermarket parts i never thought of using it for drifting
Fast forward a few years i bought a nissan s13 200sx (240 in the u.s) with the intention of building it for drifting with him, but every time we planned to do drift days my mildly expensive nissan would throw its toys out the pram and break, where as his celica supra could take as much abuse as you could throw at it!
I must have spent close to 3000 pound on the nissan modifying it for drifting and just keeping it on the road
It spent plenty of time in the workshop..
I had enough of that troublesome car, (It had killed another engine) Pic of it going of to new owner, ed
so in 2008 i bought the celica supra on ebay for 190 pounds.
just for parts as his mk2 supra had a little crash at castle combe circuit.
When we got it home we decided to sell my s13 and restore the celica supra as they had proved to be so reliable.
We spent another 100 pounds in parts getting it running after it had been sat idle since 1997 (quite a bit of welding and painting ensued ...
I could go on, but finally, after 7 years of having nice looking, but essentially rubbish cars im actually drifting!
And i've never looked back ;D Best car i've ever had!
Thats why i love old school toyotas and why i started DRIFTOY.
