Has anyone considered tubular rear swing arms that would allow both toe and camber to be adjusted? Maybe I am going mad but surely this is possible? I have something on my car that is tweaked (could be swing arm, subframe, chassis......) and cant get the offside wheel within the toe limits. Thoughts anyone......or shall I get my coat!?

Your not mad, And it's Very possible, But Also too Expensive to make for Keeping with an Out of Date Semi Trailing arm Design, when everything else these days is Double wishbone. Bmw E30 M3 works Cars had a revised set up, As did the Sierra Rs500. but the problem still remains of the toe increases with travel, so you just have to minimise movement if you want it to be more consistant when on track. I'n the future, i'll probably swap to a later Toyota Double wishbone set up from something like a Lexus LS400 as you can use the bigger 8" diffs. If you've got a Bent Front Subframe Or worn out Subframe Bushes, that will Most probably be the root cause. All the arm Geometry is off that Beam

Nice pics Neil thanks. I have been contemplating the double wishbone set-up (either Toyota/Lexus or even homemade kit car type) but I am really torn whether to butcher the rear floor pan as its mint and it seems criminal to start cutting.....but the severe lift off oversteer when in left hand corners is a bit of an issue!
I was under the car this morning trying to see if a box section subframe could be made that locates on the same bush points and hang double kit car wishbones with Sierra hubs and driveshafts.... might be seen as sacrilege though!! Hmmm the dilemma.....

Hmmm the dilemma..... Don't cut the Floorpan. chop the Subframe to fit the car. It would be worth having a measure up of something lexus-ish to see how far off it actually is. Ls200 actually uses the same 7.5" Diff as we do, so worth a look. Sc300 soarer Rear Subframe = (Abeit Upside down) mk 4 Supra Rear Subframe = Same part as the Soarer above ^ Ls400 Subframe is a more simple affair. The Back two Ma61 Supra Subframe Studs are on Sliders anyhow, so you have got quite a bit of scope to position it right. There's no harm in cutting, or reproducing the Ma61 Subframe bush mountings, then welding them on to say, a gs300 subframe. On the BMW e21's a lot of people need to Upgrade their rear Diff's after an engine swap, so they Chop and Shorten Subframes from The E24/28 Range of 5 & 6 series cars.

Lots of food for thought - thanks. I am loving your picture library! I need to decide which route I am going down cos I am itching to get my new wheels and tyres ordered.... bit like eating your dessert before your starter! Cheers.
