Nice choice there man. Been having a look at that complete kit and looks really well thought out. I'd go for .70 A/R myself, instead of the .58A/R as you can make the same power with less boost & less overall stress on the system than running a smaller turbo flat out. with the bigger wheel size. adverse effects of a bigger turbine wheel (exhaust side) is boost will be laggier than the .58 A/R, but as theres only .12 difference, i cant imagine it will be too bad though. i prob can work it out, but will take a while to do the sums. I think my mind is set for the .70, looking at some of the turbo's garret sell, most of their mid-range are around the.82 A/R mark, so it looks like i'll have a decent amount of torque low down anyway, and that little extra from the higher end from the .70 as apposed to the .58.

Finally got the supra into the dry today, I have rented a small garage down the road as I was sick of being messed about waiting for a bigger lock up which I was supposed to be moving into 2 months ago.
Anyway, I pulled the front bumper off so it could be towed with a tow pole, which I can defo say was well worth the £25, and alot safer than using a rope as it has damper springs to take the brunt of braking.
When I pulled the front bumper off, I came across quite a bit of rust, a couple of the screws snapped, and I also managed to put my jack through the floor on the drivers side.
Just wondering how much of a headache this is gonna be to strip back? I'm also no where near confident enough with a welding torch yet, what are my options here? I'd hope to be able to do the work myself, so how do i go about attacking the rust and getting it prepped for repairs?

One of my employees used to do body work and stuff so he's doing body work and I sold my garage to my mechanic for cheap so he said he will chuck the 1uz lump in for me.

You could always get my Fabricator to do the Welding if you like? we're near oxford, but the place is secure and you can have whatever you like done to it whilst its there. Rear strut Brace like mine, bit of Stitch welding- Sills - Rear quarters. Like i said, anything you want really. If it's Not a major Priority then rates will be pretty good too for Driftoy Members. Might even be able to arrange Collection as i've got loads of mates with flatbeds and they get about a bit with the Banger cars they pick up.

A few pics of the supra's new home. It's more spacious than it looks, though not much more, There's plenty of room to work around and under the car, and a decent space out front so the car can be moved outside if needs be. I built a solid shelf at the back, which sits above the boot to give me more storage, I'm also going to hang a couple of beams from the ceiling to store bulky stuff that is getting in the way. New radiator arrived last week, along with the oil cooler and relocation kit. The radiator is a good size, but will need to modify or make new brackets to make it fit in the car (see pics below :S) as it clearly won't fit into the old brackets. and the oil cooler and relocation kit looks like it'll do very nicely Old cooler vs new cooler: I've yet to work out where the filter will go, but no rush really. The cam covers came off yesterday, to reveal a real head ache - Water in the spark plug well, and not just a little either. So I need to investigate this, it may just have been rain water leaking in at some point, the HG is defo getting replaced at some point anyway, so I'm not too worried if that is the cause, the only thing i don't want it to be, is a cracked head, I will be soooo pisssed. What a mess: I have no way of checking compression until I get the engine running i guess, so will have to pick up a compression tester around that time. So I'm off to pick up a syringe and get the water cleared out. I'll be cleaning the engine down with degreaser today, and try and get hold of some paint.

That oil cooler Relocation kit looks really nice Mate, And good to see you've Stepped up on the cooling in general. Should stay nice and even when ragging it now! On my old S13 i used a volvo Rad and intercooler, so when it came to make a bottom Bracket for the Rad, we just used a bit of angle iron, drilled some holes through it to fit to the Rad, then welded some L shaped Brackets to that to attach to where the old mounts sat. Worked pretty well. Bit of a bastard about the water in the plug holes, but as long as you get that out quickly, shouldnt pose too much of a problem. Hasnt leaked down into the head by the looks of things. Once your ready to do the head gasket, have the head ultrasonically cleaned to get rid of all the carbon and rusty shit.

Currently in the process of stripping down the head for removal. It has taken me a few days to strip down most of the parts as I've only had the odd spare hour here and there to give it my attention, tomorrow, I have the whole day, so the remaining parts are coming off and the head out.
I see no point in doing things by half, so may aswell get stuck in, this way, I learn alot about the engine, and gain some knowledge as a whole.
I'm gonna take your advice Neil, and look into getting the head ultrasonically cleaned, as there's alot of gunk in the pipes, so it probably needs it. I may take it down and get it skimmed too, as there's a place a couple miles down the road from me, and for the sake of £50, i can get it checked for cracks, and have it skimmed while i wait.
While I have the head out, I may dive a little deeper and replace all the gaskets on the bottom end, but it depends how much of a bitch this will be with the engine still in the car, so will have to investigate.
I have pretty much dried out most of the water in the spark plugs, there is still a small ring of water around each spark plug, so will have to make sure I attend to that before I pull the plugs, I just needed a 14mm hex which I only just picked up today, so we're good to go tomorrow. Some angled mild steel is on order to make the bottom brackets for the rad and fmic, silicone hoses are also on the way, which will be arriving before Tuesday, basically a full engine pipe replacement kit or most of atleast.
Cometic gasket (1.9mm multilayer I believe) is being ordered when I get paid, aswell as full engine gasket set, the plan is to get the engine running sweet before I go spending thousands on turbo's and what not, so I'm trying to pick up a cheap CT26 replacement, or I'll grab a seal kit for my fucked turbo, and I'll most likely be replacing the water pump while I'm at it, as I don't want to risk the old one failing.
That's it for now, I'll get some pics tomorrow of the progress, and update after work tomorrow night!

As expected, my samco silicone hose kit turned up today, had a quick look through and checked it was all there, as it's my little girls 2nd birthday today, I'll be hauling it down the the garage tomorrow and finishing up the strip down. On another pleasant note, there's a machinist literally 2 minutes drive from my house who is going to be skimming my cylinder head, assuming it needs it. I will also be ordering parts from driftmotion.com next month, so if anyone wants something ordering, let me know! I will get Neil to put up a group notice, incase anyone misses this post. I'm ordering MLS HG, arp head studs and the MSD tach. If I can spare any more cash, I might grab a few other bits. I have a CT26 turbo on the way, used but in decent condition, and will be deciding on a gasket set once I know if I'll be doing the bottom end. If not, then a head gasket set minus the HG, at a bargain price of £34

Got most of the head stripped this afternoon before I had to go work: I'm waiting on a crank puller and a tap/dye set coming from the bay of e then I can get the crankshaft pulled off. I know it's probably not necessary but I want to get everything in good shape before it all goes back together. I'm also DEFINATELY changing the injectors as it was a bit of a headache getting down to the fuel rail so I don't wanna have to do that again anytime soon if I can help it lol, so I'll have some injectors for you soon if you still want them Neil
